Timed writing sprints can defeat procrastination by helping you focus on the amount of time you're dedicating to writing. With the timer set for 30 minutes or 45 minutes, your brain can relax and ignore the emails and notifications, helping you produce more words on a page.
More focus means more words written. And more words written means the book is done ASAP! Which is the ultimate goal, right?
Three 30 minute sprints can produce up to 1500 words. At that rate, the writer could finish an 80,000 word manuscript in less than 54 sprints!

The Creative Writing Community Sprinting group gives you access to sprints five days a week at a time that works with your schedule.
Why try writing sprints?
Writing sprints help you concentrate on the story. During a sprint we push aside the inner editor/critic. We don't go back and edit in real time at first, we just write!
Get the words down. Once they are written, another sprint can be used to edit or refine.
With writing sprints five days a week in the CWC sprinting membership, you can hone your daily writing habits.
Writing daily, or at least several times a week, will help you finish your book!
Writing as a group helps, too!
Although we are on Zoom, meeting together helps focus as well. Just knowing others are focusing on their writing to finish their books, it gives us permission to do the same.
It also shows us that we aren't alone! And taking a few minutes to get to know each other and what we're working on creates a community of collaboration and success. We root for each other to not only finish the writing, but get the book into the hands of our potential readers!
